PS3 problem (big problem)

I just got the YELLOW LIGHT OF DEATH. which means it pretty much died on me today. anyways, i will be trying to fix it tomorrow, i've got it planned out, i just hope it actually works. has this happend to anyone here by the way?
i should be able to be online by tomorrow night, but if it doesnt work, i think this league would be pretty much screwed because i wouldnt be able to promote anyone else as commisioner. i WILL revive my ps3 though! it shall revive!!

1) took the whole thing apart
2) cleaned the 2 main 'chips' with rubbing alcohol
3) used a heat gun on both sides of the main 'chips' (this basically fixes the problem) for about a minute on each section
4) i put some thermal compound (silver mx5 or something)
5) put it back together agian
